JOB DESCRIPTIONOur accounting team is looking for a Senior Accountant to streamline and automate current processes and develop new functionality to serve our fast growing lending business. We are building out an accounting team in Chicago and this role is an opportunity to build something. The right candidate will be an analytical problem solver and clear communicator. You will partner with Senior Leadership to drive new processes and reporting as a hands-on self-starter and creative problem solver. Must be action oriented, at ease interacting with all areas of the business and possess the ability to communicate complex issues.The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and be responsible for process automation, general accounting, cash reconciliation and accounts payable. Primary Responsibilities Generate support for month end close journal entries and enter into QuickbooksGenerate monthly cash flow statements and consolidated financialsComplete bank reconciliations and assist in cash forecast generationMaintain balance sheet account reconciliations and suggest improvementsMonitor compliance with accounting policies and generally accepted accounting principalsReconcile operating expense and maintain month over month variance analysisProvide support during annual audits by generating footnotes and documentation to support balancesDrive process improvements and positive change within the organizationAssist in cost tracking and analysis for business linesDraft process memos and accounting guidance for distribution to business ownersAdditional duties and projects as assigned Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or FinancePassed CPA exam1-5 years experience in public accounting or a corporate accounting departmentAnalytical with demonstrated project management skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and oralProven ability to develop relationships across departments as both a leader and a participantExperience with Quickbooks is a plusMS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
