Payroll Manager
Leader needed for payroll operations to perform the following duties:
- Supervise payroll staff, provide direction to staff, manage the team's resources and priorities, and provide leadership and guidance
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of biweekly, multi-state payrolls and other payroll related documents, including garnishments, special payments, expatriate payments, W-2s, T-4s, and taxes consistent with applicable laws
- Evaluate existing payroll policies, practices, and procedures, and implement changes when necessary
- Collaborate with HR and IT to ensure systems are set-up and updated to reflect current employee pay, including wages, benefits, absences, etc
- Resolve employee payroll issues and system interface problems, including the testing of new/updated transactions within SAP
- Participate as a stakeholder on company special projects that require payroll involvement
- Ensure compliance with all internal Policies and controls as well as compliance with external laws and regulatory guidance, including Sarbanes- Oxley
- Maintain knowledge of existing and new payroll related legislation
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee data; ensuring all payroll information, files, and records are maintained in accordance with relevant laws
Requirements: Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required. Masters a plus, with major in Business, Information Technology, Accounting, and/or Human Resources preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel and Word
- Extensive knowledge of payroll processes utilizing SAP
Certifications: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
- Work Experience: 5-7 years experience managing a multi-state payroll team
- Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
- Must be a team leader, a team advocate and highly organized
