Production Supervisor. Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties. Assesses manpower, equipment, ingredients and materials to insure production of all products within the standards of the company. Analyzes equipment performance and inputs work orders into the SAP system accurately describing problems of the equipment and how it relates to inferior production of product. Insures amounts of stock and supplies required for operations are available, based on production schedules, and coordinates materials from storage area. Interprets schedules, memos, and other documents and assigns duties to complete production or other essential tasks. Evaluates personnel and coaches them on performance requirements. This includes proper disciplinary enforcement of policies and procedures as well as performance evaluations. Insures all SQF, HACCP, CTS, Safety, Hygiene and Calibration standards are adhered to. Plans flow of materials through department and assist on development/modification of physical layout of machines. Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area. Communicates thoroughly with the previous shift regarding personnel problems, unfinished task workload, special requests or requirements, crewing shortages, schedule changes or any situation requiring attention.
Inspects and measures products and components (ingredients and packaging) to verify conformance to specifications. Conduct job specific training for new/existing employees in all plant programs. Directs workers in adjusting machines, process and equipment to meet product standards. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Maintains time and production records. Inputs data in Access database, AS400 and SAP computer systems. Assists in development of capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times. Leads safety and reliability initiatives for respective area including, but not limited to, training, coaching, and reporting. Directly supervises up to 30 employees in the Production Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Position is eligible for overtime pay for time worked over 8hrs, over 40hrs, and work performed on the weekend. Safety and Security - Has full competence in all plant programs; Insures safety and security procedures are met; Determines appropriate action beyond guidelines; Reports potentially unsafe conditions ; Uses equipment and materials properly; Prepares and performs pre-shift meetings on safety. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) Knowledge of AS400 and SAP Manufacturing software, Access, Word, Excel (Windows based software). AIB certificate preferred, Six Sigma training preferred Multi-tasking abilities - ability to handle multiple priorities at one time, including properly setting priorities and ensuring follow-up is completed for areas of responsibility.
