Position Description: The Accounting Manager reports directly to the Corporate Controller and manages two accounting assistants. The position is responsible for oversight and maintenance of the company’s accounting activities and general ledger. We are looking for an energetic leader who will help us build best in class accounting systems. Responsibilities:Responsible for timely reporting of detailed monthly and annual financial reports.Supervises two Accounting AssistantsAssist Controller with implementation of Great PlainsPerform various financial statement analyses.Account reconciliations and analysis, including but not limited to the following:Bank reconciliationsReconcile accounts receivable sub-ledger to the general ledgerReconcile accounts payable sub-ledger to general ledgerAssist the Controller with the annual insurance renewal and monthly management of the policies.Perform monthly, quarterly and year end closeAssist Controller with preparation for the year end audit.Maintain fixed asset ledger and provide necessary reporting.Develop and report budgets and forecasts.Analyze budget variancesPrepare required bank reports.Monitor and improve internal controls.Analyze and report inventory.Report, remit and file sales and use taxes.Create new cost allocations.Analyze general ledger accounts.Support Controller with special projects and workflow process improvements.Assist the Controller in establishing and implementing short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
