Position: Estimator We are a well-established national commercial painting company located in Naperville, Illinois in search of a full time Estimator who is a local member of the community. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Job Responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: · Acts as the liaison between the sales and project management departments to successfully communicate projects, scopes of work, deadlines, and customer’s needs · Estimates, upon computing cost factors, items for management purposes, such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids, and determining cost effectiveness · Develop proposals to include scope of work, paint specifications and final pricing · Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and develops itemized lists · Analyze project specifications to prepare time, material, equipment and labor estimates · Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions · Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues · Administer project specifications, change orders and estimate revisions, as requested · Survey jobsites and conduct onsite customer meetings to discuss and formulate estimates as needed · May specialize according to particular service performed, type of project, or phase of work involved, such as production, construction or material costs · Follow written procedures in accordance with company policy · Involved in assigned projects, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes · Create an accurate scope of work by utilizing the specific customer request, returned survey information, and previous projects. · Maximize bid pricing and company margin dollars by drawing upon knowledge of estimated time and materials necessary to complete a project, including factoring in travel costs for crew · Verify suitable product specs from vendors · Meet customer driven deadlines · Review newly awarded projects with Project Managers including scope of work, specifications, deadlines, etc. to have smooth transition from the Sales department to the Project Management department. · Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations Competencies and Criteria · Excellent oral and written communication skills · Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills · Proficient computer skills · Good interpersonal skills with a strong sense of urgency and problem solving capabilities · Proven track record for working well under pressure · Able to work as part of a team · Commitment to meeting daily, weekly and monthly deadlines · Thorough listing of inclusions and exclusions · Convert bids from “Draft” status to “Pending Sales Approval” within deadlines · Obtaining manufacturer product/system recommendations, if needed · Minimum 5 years of direct paint industry experience All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States.
