Pair- Male and Female
Meet the Dynamic Duo, Jack and Jill! This pair was found together and since they've come this far together, the goal/hope is to keep them together. They would be a great match for a family looking for two dogs that already get along or a couple looking for a pair of his and her dogs. Jill is approximately six and Jack is two, we think they are mother and son. Even though Jill has an eye patch and is a little shorter than Jack, they look and act like twins..the vet says no doubt, they're definitely related. This pair is high energy and would do best in a house with a yard however, if they were to be excersized regulaly with walks, they would make fabulous Condo/Townhouse/Apartment dogs...although, they do like to wrestle and tumble while they play. These two play hard together and are very powerful during play sessions flipping around, spinning, running, etc, so it would be best to place them in a home where there are no elderly or people who aren't strong on their feet. After a little play time, they prefer to hang out by you. This pair is very eager to learn and to please which makes training very easy. They are easy to walk and easy to keep in a heel position. A home where they can be the only dogs is a must..although they do awesome with one another, they do not prefer to be around other dogs. Jack and Jill are true to the American Bulldog nature..great with people and children but good guardians of their house and yard. These two will definitely let you know if someone is approaching your house. They are house and crate trained and do not bark while in thier crates. Jill has a little arthritis in her back legs and is currently Heartworm positive and is undergoing a slow kill heartworm treatment. For her arthritis, Glucosomine tabs have helped significantly, you'd never know she had any problems considering she still runs, jumps and plays like a crazy dog. She was very early Stage heart worm positive...but she had a reaction during her heartworm treatment so she was unable to complete the treatment. She will have to continue on heartworm preventative monthly and over time it will treat the heartworms. The fee for the two has been reduced from 600.00 to 300.00 in order to keep the dynamic duo together and also due to Jilly being heartworm positive. If you are interested in adopting Jack & Jill, please go to our website at www.castawaypetrescue.org and fill out an adoption application. An adoption counselor will contact you. Please bring any dogs, children, and decision makers to your appointment. Be prepared to adopt and take your new family member home that day if we have a match. Please note that adoption counselors will only know of your interest if you submit an application. They do not see emails sent to the administration email account. The adoption counselor can answer your questions when they call after receiving your application. Please remember we are an all volunteer organization.
Minimum Adoption Donation covers deworming, microchip with free registration, age appropriate vaccinations, neuter if performed by our vet, 30 days of health insurance.
Foster Home Location: Lindenhurst, IL, Fee for the dynamic duo is 300.00, fee has been reduced to keep them together. Normally the Fee for the two would be 600.00.
