Joanne is a one of a kind young pup that loves nothing more than to have the full attention of her human pack leaders. She listens very well to commands and responds well to correction. She does require a strong human pack leader who will provide rules, boundaries and consistency. Joanne recently spent some time at doggie boot camp and did really well learning her basic commands and how to respect the boundaries of humans and other dogs. She’s still a little particular about her doggie playmates. Joanne would likely be best as an only dog within the home. However, she has actually lived successfully with another dog in the past, so she might be ok with a stable doggie sibling who can show her the ropes.
Joanne definitely needs an active lifestyle with daily walks, playtime and training maintenance. With those things, she will be a great dog in a home with a yard or an apartment/condo. She is crate trained, housebroken and loves to curl up and sleep or lick a Kong in her crate. Joanne lives in a foster home with cats and she is still adjusting to their presence. She loves to have her belly rubbed and to lounge around in the company of her humans. She walks very well on a leash, but does get distracted when she sees other dogs so needs to be corrected as appropriate. Walks are her favorite part of the day in any case!!
Joanne isn’t a huge fan of the adoption shows(there are just so many dogs, so many smells and so much going on!!!) but, she’s working on it and is getting better at behaving there!
