Note: This is an exempt position and there may be a need to work outside of core hours based on the essential duties and responsibilities of the position.Reports to: Web & Analytics ManagerDirect reports: NoneStart date: September 1, 2016Location: While IES Abroad is headquartered in Chicago, the Web & Analytics Manager will work out of his or her home office or work out of IES Abroad headquarters in Chicago, as required.Summary of position: The Jr. Drupal Developer supports and develops for the IES Abroad Public Website at www.IESAbroad.org and IES Abroad-related sites. A member of the Marketing Department, the Website Specialist is responsible for performing ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement activities. Success factors for this position are technical knowledge, development and integration experience coupled with ability to develop and support practical, effective, customer-driven applications.Essential job responsibilities & duties:Work under the direction of the Marketing Department to support and develop public website functionalityComplete incoming help desk tickets related to public website and work with internal staff or outsourced vendor to identify, test, and resolve user issuesContribute to web-related enhancements/projects/fixes through working with internal staff, partners, and outsourced vendorsReview, understand, and help to document detailed business, functional, and technical requirements of IES Abroad’s public website (www.IESabroad.org)Support related web needs and requests from IES Internships, Customized Programs, Advancement, Customized Programs, internal portals, and SAFProvide detailed project estimates and work plansSeek out opportunities for enhancing existing technology or implementing new technologyProvide detailed technical specificationsAccurately document design, code, and other workParticipate in design and code reviewsPrepare and package code for production deploymentRegular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this positionAny other task or duty as assigned or requiredExperience & Qualifications/Skills Learn and adapt to a fast-paced results-oriented environmentWork towards and meet established deadlinesCoordinate work with team membersDemonstrate good organizational skillsBuild and sustain strong relationshipsAccept constructive criticismShow ability to effectively analyze a problem and prove good problem solving skillsHigh level of self-motivation and integrityStrong interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-taskSelf-starter with ability to pick up new technology quicklyThe candidate should demonstrate experience and/or training in the following:1-3+ years’ experience with Drupal1-3+ years’ experience maintaining and supporting custom web applicationsDemonstrated help desk experienceKnowledge and experience with PHP, MySQL, XML, SOAP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, and Solr searchKnowledge of web standards and cross-browser development is requiredKnowledge of source code management, build scripting and deploymentExperience with Linux/Unix operating systemsDemonstrate a solid portfolio of Drupal work; preference will be given to candidates who are active contributors to the Drupal community.
