As part of Wells Fargo Home Lending, NUPRM identifies and adopts best practices and controls in relation to retail mortgage products.The Portfolio Underwriting team reviews the most complex loan types and transactions and makes the credit decisions on these files. This team maintains the highest levels of non-conforming underwriting expertise and approval authority within the home lending organization. They use the High Performance Lending philosophy to decision loans based on risk profile assessment rather than strict guidelines.The lending officer is primarily responsible for providing credit & risk analysis support to Sales, Fulfillment, and PCO Team Members.Primary functions include, but are not limited to: Provide escalation support, EP Approval Authority or Path of Assistance sign off on high risks/complicated transactions Act as Liaison to underwriting team members with corporate credit/credit policy partners to ensure consistency of policy/philosophy application Perform as a Subject Matter Expert for local/national training & project initiatives Co-Facilitate local/national underwriting trainings Provide superior customer focused support to all customers (Sales, Fulfillment, PCO, etc.) Conduct internal regular loan reviews, provide coaching and feedback on review outcomes Co-manage all loan review processes (Assist with preparing responses, providing coaching/feedback, identifying trends, creating & implementing action plans) Co-lead oversight of loan quality for divisionA successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to multi-task without diluting quality of work; manage and assess risks between the organization and the loan transaction, proactively engage and drive complicated transactions to conclusion, build strong rapport among sales, fulfillment, and Sr credit partners.This SAFE position has customer contact and job duties which may include the offering/negotiating of terms and/or taking an application for a dwelling secured transaction. As such, this position requires compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and all related regulations. Ongoing employment is contingent upon meeting all such requirements, including acceptable background investigation results.
