The Photo Retoucher will work closely with the Senior Retoucher and Photographers and is responsible for staying on track, working to tight deadlines and delivering an outstanding service.A successful candidate for this role must be able to handle multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing based on workload and due dates; and communicate when concerns about meeting deadlines arise or an image requires a skill or technique outside of skill level.This position requires 5%-10% travel.Primary Responsibilities:Create daily contact sheets of new photography for each shoot occurring in studio. Email contact sheets to appropriate owner/manager of each job. Print and distribute contact sheets when required.Perform retouching tasks on digital images, including but not limited to clean-up of food, packaging and backgrounds; making adjustments for brightness, contrast, color when necessary; compositing elements from multiple exposures into one working image, outlining/silhouetting images.Communicate and collaborate with the photo team to determine the most effective and efficient method of achieving a particular look or affect, or when clarification is needed from the photographer about the particular purpose for providing multiple exposures.Attend press checks and work on-site with press to determine best color practices for each brand.Be proactive and able to show initiative to improve the image quality on our site.Track and manage the quality of the high volume of product images.Must be competent in Adobe Photoshop with a working knowledge of other Adobe Creative Suite products such as Bridge, Acrobat, and Illustrator. Knowledge/ experience using After-effects is a plus, but not required.Must demonstrate the ability to follow established workflow protocol, including the use of existing folder structures, file naming conventions, and Photoshop file structures and practices.Minimum 3-5 years of photography/ retouching experience.Product/food retouching experience required.
