  • Director of Sales Freehand Chicago is looking for an energetic “Up and Comer” with a strong entrepreneurial spirit who is looking to make the next step to become a Director of Sales.  This is a hands on leadership position that will lead a team of 3 while developing new accounts and maximizing the current account base. Who Are WeThe Sydell Group is a New York based owner and developer of lifestyle oriented hotels. Our Café Integral serves up a variety of fine Nicaraguan coffee and seasonal dishes. Position Scope and Essential FunctionsAchieve and exceed budgeted room nights and revenue goals annuallyAnalyze and estimate total value of each piece of business and negotiate best situation for achieving optimum revenue for the hotel while ensuring excellent customer serviceUtilize the marketing plan in order to uncover new and potential businessCultivate existing accounts into repeat business and revenue streamsDevelop and maintain a comprehensive Target List of potential new accounts for the entire sales team; use creativity and innovation to find ideal customers that fit the hotel’s unique cultureDevelop new accounts with active prospecting, market networking, and targeted Sales Calls to accounts most probable to book FreehandDevelop powerful customer relationship with appropriately frequent and reliable communication; Follow up on all Sales leads in timely, courteous and professional mannerEnsure accuracy for forecasting of revenues with most updated informationRecruit direct, mange, train, and counsel sales staffActively lead the entire property as a member of the Executive CommitteeHave a genuine passion for the Lifestyle Hotel segment and Freehand’s strengths and position within the industrySupport FunctionsIn addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following support functions:Professionally represent the hotel in community and industry organizations and eventsParticipate as a team player with all departmentsProvide constructive feedback to all departmentsBe a leader and a role model to all employeesProfessional Experience and Skills Required5 - 7 years of hotel experience in hospitality sales including 2-3 years in a senior sales role; Experience with Business Travel and Group markets preferred.Have a strong understanding of hotel sales strategies including the Chicago MarketAct as a leader at the hotel by demonstrating authentic care for the success of the company and the work environment of associates Have the necessary drive and urgency to accomplish the goals of a unique hotelAbility to conduct professional on and off-site client meetingsMust have extremely strong organizational skills and the ability to plan and execute an annual sales plan for all responsible marketsFlexibility to work some weekend hours as needed by clients to ensure customer satisfactionMost tasks are performed in a team environment with the employee acting as a team leader: this is a role that has minimal direct supervision.Knowledge of hotel and competitive marketQualified candidates should submit the following information:Current updated resumePlease include position being applied for in the subject lineNo phone calls pleaseEmployment will be based upon personal capabilities and qualifications without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic as established by law.Please send resume to: [email removed]
