Network Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity to join an exciting, Chicago-based, financial services e-commerce company and a leading online brokerage, specializing in providing securities and futures traders with a comprehensive suite of trading tools, including powerful option analytical tools, interactive education, superior order execution, live option commentary, and integrated risk management.
We are seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, reliable, hard-working Network Engineer who is ready to join a team of engineers responsible for upgrading and maintaining the mission-critical infrastructure of our enterprise. The successful candidate will become a member of the Network Systems team and will be responsible for all aspects of networking in the enterprise environment including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs and SAN storage systems.
Required Qualifications:
. 4+ years experience configuring and maintaining Cisco LAN/WAN gear such as 6500s, ASAs, FWSMs and various routers across multiple data centers.
. Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced enterprise level environment
. Expert knowledge of OSPF in a multi-area configuration including route redistribution
. A firm understanding of TCP/IP in a complex Cisco/Windows network
. Ability to work nights, evenings or weekends and be on call 24 x 7 x 365
. Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
. Ability to move computer equipment up to 50 lbs
Additional experience preferred but not required:
. Previous financial experience strongly preferred
. SAN technologies such as MDS switches and EMC arrays
. Experience with DWDM and ONS gear
. Implementation and maintenance of IP Multicast and NMS Market Data
. Knowledge of RSA two-factor authentication systems and TACACS/RADIUS
. Experience with F5 load balancers
. Cisco Certifications such as CCNA or CCNP
. Familiarity with Cisco VoIP systems
. Data center management experience such as cabling, power and rack maintenance
. VMWare ESX host installation and maintenance
. Technical BS+ degree or equivalent
