PURPOSE:

To provide therapy and behavioral planning for children and some adults who have developmental disabilities and their families for foster care and home-based supports programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a Master’s Degree in a clinical field (i.e. psychology, social work. counseling) from a regionally accredited institution; LCSW or LCPC is preferred or eligibility for such licensure. Must have experience conducting individual, group and family therapy with children who have developmental, behavioral and/or emotional challenges. Must also be capable of transporting children, possessing a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assess the therapeutic needs of assigned children and families served by Little City Foundation and provide services according to these needs.
Conduct outcome-based individual, group and family therapy with the children and adults in home, office, natural family settings, schools, etc., as necessary to facilitate treatment progress.
Attend or request staffing's, as necessary, as well as attend any other meetings related to the child for the purpose of coordinating interventions with the interdisciplinary team.
Provide consultation with other program staff regarding children’s therapeutic issues as needed.
Maintain appropriate documentation through required reports and case notes.
Attend and participate in clinical supervision on a weekly basis.
Attend and participate in team and department meetings as scheduled.
Maintain and increase clinical skills through training and research.
Provide training to families, staff and other service providers.
May be requested to perform behavioral assessments and create behavior intervention plans.
Provide on-call crisis intervention and support if necessary.
Maintain an awareness of all safety activities in the area and immediately report all accidents and safety hazards to supervisor.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Physical/Environmental Conditions:

Works in an office environment. Long periods of sitting. Use of computer, time spent on the telephone and in meetings (on site and off site). Periods of intense concentration. Travel to offsite locations, exposure to outdoor conditions. Must be able to safely lift 25 pounds.
