Front Desk for Medical OfficeA rapidly expanding optometric practice in Northbrook, Illinois seeks an enthusiastic front desk person with prior front desk experience, preferably within a medical practice. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of how to multitask and make decisions of prioritizing. The practice is seeking a front desk person with a high caliber of professionalism and graciousness, creating and facilitating outstanding patient service in every aspect of the office-staff- patient interaction. The job applicant needs not only to problem solve but to be able to think ahead, being aware of details and how they will impact the bigger picture. Exceptional communication skills, above-average computer skills, the ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently, as well as the ability to relate well with a sensitive patient population are essential for this position. Familiarity with quickbooks entry is necessary.Duties will include (but may not be limited to):1. Interact with courteous treatment of patients, registration, distributing and collecting all new patient and follow-up visit paperwork, collection of payments at time-of-service, appointment scheduling, class scheduling, workshop scheduling, patient messages, patient flow, patient confidentiality.2. In this international practice, phone calls as well as in patient visits need to often be coordinated with other professionals. Follow through is a must.3. Daily administrative duties: Opening and/ or closing the office, daily inspection of lobby, bathrooms, hallway, improve office flow maintain forms as needed, work with outside services including phones, equipment and computer support.Some Saturday hours are required. 25% of health insurance paid if position taken is full time. 2 weeks vacation.
