Here is a 36 channel Trident T24 console, basically a 24 buss Series 65/75. Includes 4 ADC 96pt patchbays ready to wire it up- plug n play. It is overall in great condition, with a few minor issues. This is an awesome desk and sounds leagues above the stock T24 and Series 65 / 75's. We are streamlining our setup and don't use nearly half of the boards features so I figured I would put it up for someone who hopefully will. The previous owner also stained the wood trim darker, which looks way better than stock IMO. I also have a PDF of the manual with schematics and everything. This desk is full of vibe. It has great character and color, is it certainly not transparent. It has a very thick vintage warmth to it! Here are the specs, upgrades, and history-
The desk measures about 6' wide and is about 3' deep.
36 input channels with Mic Pre's & 4 band EQ. Low is fixed at 100hz, High is fixed at 10kHz. Line in has -/+10db trim and the Mic pre has a 20db pad switch as well as phase flip. Direct out on every channel. Phantom power switch is on the rear of the console for each channel.
24 Busses / Tape Outs.
24 Tape Returns w/high and low shelving EQ that can be used as inputs during mix down, giving you a total of 60 inputs!
8 Aux Sends
4 Echo Returns
I am the 2nd owner, I purchased from Primal Gear in Nashville back in 2006 where it came to me in perfect working order and very clean.
- The biggest upgrade is the power supply. Last year I purchased a new 15 amp power supply (over 3x the current of the stock supply) from GRS Pro Audio. This was $1500 on its own and is a beast! I also have the original supply if you want to use it as a door stop. To say this thing is overbuilt is an understatement. The console is SO QUIET now and there is a ton more headroom! The original PSU was barely adequate for this size of a desk.
- Jim Williams at Audio Upgrades modded the master section. He's one of the best techs in the business and specializes in upgrading consoles and other audio gear. It was recapped, the buffer amps IC's were upgraded to LME chips, bypass caps were installed and a new TKD KO ON conductive plastic fader was installed. This mod, coupled with the new power supply made it sound like a blanket was lifted off my speakers. So much headroom and clarity. Again, this is not your typical T24/S65!
- I recapped channels 1-12 with Panasonic FC series Electrolytic Capacitors. Again, like taking a blanket off of each channel! These are some of the best capacitors used in audio that are often seen in higher end Neve, API, SSL, Neotek consoles.
- Channels 1-8 I re-chipped with Burr Brown OPA134's. This upgrade cost several hundred dollars to do and also required me to get the new PSU since they draw 2x the current of the stock TL071 IC chips. These channels are VERY clear- almost add extended high/low bandwidth, headroom and a faster transient response/punch. It still has the vibe of the original channels but with added clarity, it especially shines in the EQ!
To my knowledge only 1 channel has an issue and it is with the line input. Channel 8's line in is not working, though the mic pre and EQ is. Should be an easy fix for a decent tech, never got in my way so it never got fixed. Issue showed up after recapping, so it probably has something to do with that.
Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions regarding this desk. Also we are on the ground floor with an overhead garage door so loading this out would be very easy.
