  • A leading Housewares Company in the Chicagoland area is seeking a National Sales Manager to lead their expanding sales effort in all retail channels with heavy emphasis on the Specialty and Gourmet channels.Overview – Responsible for achieving revenue to the assigned territory budgetary expectationsSales Responsibility–National Specialty Chains (including Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table, Crate & Barrel), Independent Gourmet Shops and management of independent rep groupsReports to – PresidentResponsibilities Include: Achieving annual sales quota for assigned territory or account grouping Identifying, developing and implementing product, marketing, merchandising, promotional and overall category development programs Operate as the company resident expert of this channel and its needs. Represent company at channel and customer specific events Identify and develop new accounts and deliver new customer acquisition and revenue goals Building leading key customer relationships and implementing strategies for expanding the company’s customer base Coordinating and working closely with Product Management to identify and implement new products and programs Manage independent rep groups to achieve specific goals and objectives and provide them with the tools, resources, product knowledge and communications to achieve market share gains.Qualifications Include:Aptitude: Good verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate well with buyers and store owners on the phone, via email and in person Strategic thinker that can identify account opportunities and develop plans Product and marketing/merchandising focused Good business acumen as well as analytical and network skills Self-starter, ability to work well both individually and as part of a teamRequirements:Specific sales experience with Specialty retailers, Department Stores, Gourmet retail and or Foodservice is desired.7+ Years experience managing outside manufacturer's reps and brokersBachelors Degree with strong analytical and computer skillsKnowledge and personal experience of cooking and food preparation a plusAbility to travel nationally 30-35% of the timeProven Leadership, presentation and communication skillsSalary 85-115K plus bonus and all business expenses with full benefits package.
